1.  Check with your system administrator to ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements (http://irb.jhmi.edu/eIRB/SystemRequirements/index.html).

2.   Obtain an eIRB account.

• Select “JHED User Self Registration” or “Non JHED User Self Registration” from the eIRB login screen at http://e-irb.jhmi.edu.
• JHED User Self Registration - Use this screen to self register for an eIRB account.  You will receive an email indicating that your account has been created.  You will then be able to use your JHED ID and JHED password to access eIRB.  If you have forgotten your JHED ID or JHED password contact JHED directly at jhed@jhmi.edu or call the JHED IT Support Center at 410-955-HELP. 
• Non JHED User Self Registration - Use this screen to self register for a non JHED user eIRB account.  You will receive an email indicating that your account has been created.  The email will provide you with your login information.

3.   Visit the IRB Home Page http://irb.jhmi.edu/ for information about IRB guidelines, regulations, and policies.

• See the IRB regulations for Investigator Guidelines http://irb.jhmi.edu/Guidelines/investigatorresponsibility.html.  Your mentor will be your greatest help. 
• Review important Informed Consent Guidelines http://irb.jhmi.edu/Guidelines/consent.html .

4.   Visit the eIRB Home Page http://irb.jhmi.edu/eIRB/. 

• Access the “What’s New @ eIRB” box for the latest updates on eIRB.
• Select "Technical Training" on the Left Navigation Bar to register for eIRB training sessions.
• Select “How Do I?” on the Left Navigation Bar for step by step instructions and tutorials.
• Select “Compliance Training Requirements” on the Left Navigation Bar for compliance course information.
