December 2006 Effective 1/1/2007, new applications may not be submitted to WIRB. All new applications must be submitted to the JHM IRBs using the eIRB system. JHU SOM will continue its contractual relationship with WIRB, as WIRB will continue to review amendments, change in investigators, continuing review applications, etc. for studies originally approved by WIRB. WIRB will continue to bill the commercial/industry sponsor for review fees using the sponsor contact information provided by the PI for all actions reviewed by WIRB unless other billing arrangements have been arranged with and agreed upon by the JHM OHSR. Please check the WIRB web page http://www.wirb.com/ for possible changes in the fee structure that is listed below. The School of Medicine will continue to be billed by WIRB for all review actions on federally funded JHU submitted studies initially approved by WIRB. Investigators submitting commercially funded protocols for review by the JHM IRB will be billed for IRB review (provided the study has cash support in excess of $10,000).
